Dr. Cusnir on the Most Effective Uses of Chemotherapy Treatment in CRC

Chemotherapy is typically effective in all lines of CRC, Cusnir says. Chemotherapy has been used in a variety of settings, from adjuvant therapy to curative intent, Cusnir adds. A role for chemotherapy can also be found in the advanced setting for patients with stage IV disease, Cusnir explains.

One key factor when evaluating a patient for the use of chemotherapy is the risk of adverse effects, Cusnir continues. Clinicians must consider how to limit chemotherapy-related toxicities for patients without compromising survival and quality of life, Cusnir concluded.
