Third year in a row cancer center has been ranked on this listing, based on employee surveys.

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is pleased to be recognized again on Forbes’ Best Employers by State listing, ranked in the top 10 among New York State employers. This is the third year in a row Roswell Park has made the list. Roswell Park is the only healthcare organization in Western New York to make this year’s Best Employers by State, and one of only two health employers in the top 10 for New York.

The new distinction is the third employer recognition Roswell Park has earned from Forbes this year. Forbes recently recognized Roswell Park on its Best Employers for Women and Best Employers for Diversity lists for 2024.

To compile Best Employers by State, Forbes worked closely with market research firm Statista to survey 160,000 U.S. employees working for a company with at least 500 people, asking them how likely they were to recommend their employer on a scale of zero to 10. The rankings are based on a scoring system that considered three years of data.

“We could not be prouder to be included on such an impressive list,” says Errol Douglas, PhD, Chief Human Resources Officer at Roswell Park. “We see every day the dedication of our employees. It is humbling to see their feedback stand out on a national level, and we will continue to work to inspire their pride in being part of a great place to work.”

Founded 126 years ago, Roswell Park was the first dedicated cancer research center in the world, and became one of the very first comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in 1972. Roswell Park has maintained the designation ever since, and was rated “exceptional” on its most recent NCI core grant renewal.

“It’s an incredible honor to work alongside this outstanding team of care providers, nurses, physicians, researchers, supportive care specialists and everyone it takes to fulfill our mission,” says Candace S. Johnson, PhD, President, CEO and M&T Bank Presidential Chair in Leadership at Roswell Park. “It’s essential that we serve and support our dedicated employees so that Roswell Park can be the best resource we can for our community.”
