This website is intended as a source of information for healthcare professionals who are treating patients with ADHD. It also provides information for patients, family members, and educators to help them better understand the disorder. The “For Parents & Caregivers” section provides answers to several commonly asked questions about ADHD, including “What is ADHD?” “How can ADHD be treated?” and “What can I do to help?” The answers review topics ranging from symptoms and behavior modification to parenting resources and quick facts. Visitors can complete a registration form and sign up to receive e-mailed suggestions about how to manage ADHD and up-to-date treatment and research news.

Patients can also search for open trials and read summaries of completed trials. When performing a search, patients can view trials by therapeutic area (eg, cardiology, endocrinology, neuroscience) or by the specific Eli Lilly and Company product being tested. The site features three sections devoted to providing information about insulin: “Deciding to Take Insulin,” “Using Insulin,” and “Getting the Most From Insulin.” Also provided are print-friendly .PDF files containing prescribing, safety, and patient product information for nine insulin products developed by Lilly. Patients interested in receiving diabetes treatment and management e-mail updates can click “Sign up for E-mail Updates.” The website can also be viewed in Spanish.

Barkley, PhD, Research Professor of Psychiatry at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, about recent advancements in ADHD management and our understanding of the inattentive and hyperactive- impulsive ADHD subtypes. Barkley also reviews the affect coexisting disorders (eg, anxiety, conduct disorder, sleep disorder) can have on children, adolescents, and adults diagnosed with ADHD.

Cookson mainly focused on “how study results and clinical guidelines, such as study results and clinical guidelines within the [National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence] NICE guideline, can be integrated in clinical practice.
