New Executive Director for Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center at NYU Langone Medical Center

Timothy W. Strawderman, PhD

Timothy W. Strawderman, PhD, has been named the new Executive Director of the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center at NYU Langone Medical Center, an NCI-designated cancer center. Dr. Strawderman will take his new position effective May 2016.

He joins the staff at Perlmutter following a 10-year run as the founding Executive Director for Cancer Center Administration at Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center in Dallas, helping it to achieve NCI-designate status. Prior to his tenure at UTSW, Dr. Strawderman served for many years in several progressively responsible positions in the Texas healthcare arena.

An alumnus of Texas A&M University, where he earned both his BS and his MPA, Dr. Strawderman received his PhD in management and policy sciences from The University of Texas-Houston Health Science Center (School of Public Health).
