In high-risk and ultra high-risk patients, a special surveillance program must be developed, says Soyer. It is not enough to be seen by a physician once a year.
Soyer says that “innovative surveillance” utilizes technology like artificial intelligence and smart phones, possibly aiding in the diagnosis of skin cancer and melanoma.
