Hope S. Rugo, MD, discusses the significance of becoming a Giant of Cancer Care®.
Hope S. Rugo, MD, a professor in the Department of Medicine, Hematology/Oncology, and director of Breast Oncology and Clinical Trials Education at University of California San Francisco, Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, discusses the significance of becoming a Giant of Cancer Care®.
It is an honor to be recognized as a Giant in Cancer Care® in Education and to join other esteemed physicians who have held the title in education, breast cancer, and other malignancies, Rugo says. The 2020 award ceremony was held virtually for the first time, Rugo adds, and several moving speeches were delivered throughout the night.
Attendees were afforded the opportunity to hear about all the contributions that their colleagues are making in the field of oncology, and all these advances are benefitting patients around the world, Rugo adds.
Rugo will serve as chair of the the steering committee for the 2021 Giants in Cancer Care® ceremony.
