Mark G. Kris, MD, chief of the Thoracic Oncology Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, describes that the average lung cancer patient is over the age of 70, although they are truly the majority they are treated like the minority in clinical trials. In many cases these elderly patients are not receiving the guideline recommended care.
