Lynch is well known across the United States as a leader in the field of thoracic oncology, Gandara notes. He is best known for leading the team that pioneered molecular testing for EGFR mutations in lung cancer. Lynch currently serves as the director of the Yale Cancer Center, where he is building an extraordinary lung cancer research team, Gandara adds.
The 2013 Giants of Cancer Care was conducted at the Hyatt Regency in Huntington Beach, California.
