Adam P. Dicker, MD, PhD, professor, chair, Department of Radiation Oncology, Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, Thomas Jefferson University, discusses DNA sequencing for patients with prostate cancer.
According to Dicker, DNA sequencing has become less expensive, making it more accessible for patients. The ability to sequence a patient’s DNA can not only help inform the physician on how a patient will respond to therapy but also how the patient will react to toxicities.
Over the next 5 years with the increase in technology, more information regarding DNA sequencing will become available.
