Bob Asinof, chief executive officer of The Urology Center of Colorado, discusses the challenges of recruiting urologists to their center while competing with larger cancer centers and hospital systems.
In the last few years, Asinof has noticed that following their fellowships and residencies, urologists are being recruited by larger hospital systems in the same market, such as Kaiser Permanente.
The Urology Center of Colorado aims to attract new physicians to its private group by offering autonomy and independence, which Asinof explains is not available in a larger system. Because The Urology Center of Colorado is a smaller group, it gives physicians an opportunity to work closer together, Asinof says.
