Beckerle Steps Down After 20 Years of Distinguished Service as CEO

The CEO of Huntsman Cancer Institute is stepping down after holding the role since 2006.

Mary Beckerle, PhD, announced today she will step down as CEO of Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah (the U) effective September 1, 2025. Beckerle has held the role of CEO since 2006.

Under Beckerle’s leadership, Huntsman Cancer Institute became the region’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and advanced extraordinary growth in infrastructure, national reputation, cancer discovery, and clinical expertise to communities across the Mountain West.
