ASCO members who need hands-on assistance in practice management, quality care assessment and improvement, and efficiency and business intelligence will be able to contact a soon to be established clinical affairs department at the organization.
The new department will be launched at the end of 2014 to provide services, education, and resources aimed at supporting oncology practices. Existing practice management resources will be housed in the new department, reported the society in a recent post on its Website.
Over the course of 2015, ASCO expects to expand its offerings in this department to focus on the business of oncology, practice management (staffing, technology, services, etc), information about transitioning a practice to a medical home, certification issues, and market analysis.
The society is seeking an oncologist to lead the new department. More information is available on the society’s Website, which also provides clinical trials resources, coding and reimbursement services, resources for researchers, and other workforce initiatives.
